Care for boarders

A holisitic approach to caring for your child

We know that children who feel secure, safe and supported are most likely to succeed and be happy, which is why we take such great care to ensure that your child feels truly at home here.

Each boarding house is hosted by a married couple, who are the children’s houseparents. Houseparents play a key role in caring for your child. They work closely with the pastoral team and teachers to ensure a holistic approach to looking after each child’s wellbeing and ensuring a nurturing and supportive setting.

We give new boarders lots of support as they get used to being away from home. Our houseparents give each child a warm welcome and help him or her to get settled in. They get to know all the children very well, and they are the people our boarders turn to with any questions, worries or if they are feeling unwell.

Boarding at Westbourne House is a partnership between the school and your family and we will be in touch with you as often as required. Boarders are free to call parents at any time, and parents can reach their children via the houseparents in the evening or via the office during the day.

The pastoral care of boarders is extremely effective.
