Hello, I am Jamie.
Hello, I am Jamie.
I am always seen running down the path eager to get to school and start my day. Mrs Oglethorpe greets me with a smile and I am raring to go. My friend Freddie is coming into the classroom when I get there. He's been to Breakfast Club before school starts.
We have a different assembly every morning. I love listening to the stories and singing songs. Sometimes I get to say the prayer at the end. Afterwards, we head to our classrooms to write our own story about a magic beanstalk.
Playtime is great fun! I love riding the scooters, playing football and I also play in the sandpit a lot. My friends love rolling down the hill. At the end of play, the Line Leader helps everyone to get ready to go inside again.
We have a delicious snack. We take it in turns to hand out fruit and drinks to our friends. Don’t forget to say please and thank you.
I love maths lessons! We are looking at number patterns. I am really good at being a maths detective to work out the answers.
Today we had a go at programming a Beebot. It has special buttons to make it move in a sequence. It was great fun trying to get it from London to Cape Town on a world map.
At midday we all walk over to the dining room. I sit with children from my class and our teachers serve us lunch. I like the food and it is all local and fresh.
We have another playtime with our friends after lunch. I was making dens!
Every Thursday, it’s Pre-Prep Live! Children from the Prep School visit us to play a range of music. They are so good. We listen to all sorts of instruments such as violins, oboes, clarinets and piano. This week we visited the Millennium Hall to listen to the ‘Big Band’ playing a few songs from the school concert. I loved the xylophone.
Our topic this term is ‘In the tall, tall grass’ and we have been learning about plants and minibeasts. We were inspired by Van Gogh’s sunflower painting to draw our own pastel version. I am very proud of mine.
This afternoon we went into the woods for forest school. We spent the afternoon hunting for minibeasts, making dens and creating ‘Buggingham Palace’, our own bug hotel for the creatures that live there. I loved sitting round the fire, drinking hot chocolate chatting to Henry about the enormous worm I found.
Sometimes I go home at 3.15pm and on other days I go to after school clubs until 4.30pm. I do Judo, French Club and Football. If Mummy and Daddy are working late, I am picked up after clubs and taken back to the Pre-Prep and I am looked after until 5.15pm.
