Hello, I'm Connie.
Hello, I'm Connie.
I arrive at school with my three brothers at around 8.10am.
I come into the classroom to unpack my home reader after greeting one of the teachers outside. I meet my friends and we get organised for the day. Usually Annabel and Dora have gone to wash the cups, and Mrs Pitman is listening to some children read.
When everyone has arrived, we do the register and get started on our first three lessons.
Today we had a special visitor Katie who came to tell us about her time working as a doctor on a hospital train in India. We have been learning all about India this term. I was fascinated to hear about how she helped so many sick people. I gave her a thank you gift from all of Year 3.
Off to English for poetry writing, I was so proud of my poem about The Magic Box.
We head off to ‘crusts’, our snack time. This morning we had pineapple slices and flapjacks.
I’m off to the monkey trail with Dora: great, we have got it to ourselves. The others are playing all sorts of fun games.
What a hot day, I must keep hydrated and be ready for maths next. Our form teacher is always there to help us if we get a bit stuck. She says we are doing so well with our times tables and our Mathletics work.
My tummy is rumbling so off to the dining room for lunch. I love school lunches, especially as I can sit with my friends and chat too. French and music now. In French I did a role-play activity with my friend Mary and we were practising ordering food in a restaurant; we really got the giggles, it was such fun.
It’s time to change into our sports kit and get ready for our netball match and after that we can go home.
My school day ends at 4.30pm. After that, sometimes I go to after school clubs. I do swimming, gym and chess, which end at 5.30pm. Sometimes I go to after school care until 5.30pm: we play outside or do games with the Year 3 and 4 teachers.
Return to read about more children's days.
