Welcome to the magical world of Westbourne House School Pre-Prep, where we spend lots of time outside and make every effort to make learning fun and inspirational every day.
In a perfect world, we would invite you into the school to experience the magic first hand but we hope you enjoy this virtual interpretation of life in our Early Years setting.
Mrs Lewis will show you how to make a Gruffalo-themed crown and some puppets of your favourite characters from the story.
From your resource pack you will need:
- Lollipop sticks
- Crown
- Two sheets of characters, one is marked ‘puppets’ and one is marked ‘crown’.
- Scissors and either glue or tape. As always, please take care when using scissors and ask an adult to help you if needed.
Follow Mr Bailey as he guides you into Westbourne’s beautiful woods to sing a song all about the Gruffalo (words and music by Julia Donaldson).
Can you spot any of the characters from the book singing with him in the Forest School circle?
Please sing along and let’s see if we can wake up the real Gruffalo!
Come and meet Mrs Rogers, class teacher, and Lemony, class mascot, as they investigate how shadows are made.
They try to help the Gruffalo’s child, who wants to work out what happened the night she saw the Big Bad Mouse’s enormous shadow.
To join in the investigations, you will need a torch and a teddy or toy. You can discover how to make a shadow bigger and smaller.
We hope you and your family had a lot of fun meeting our teachers, singing together, making and creating, and listening to the imaginative stories by Julia Donaldson.
