DRAMA
Last term, a group of Year 1 and 2 children, who attend Pop Up Club (after school drama club), prepared for their first London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art (LAMDA) examinations. The children were required to memorise and perform a short poem and talk briefly about their favourite toy. We are very proud to announce that all the children passed with distinctions and merits. Congratulations to Freddie Wilson (Y2), Hebe Sargent (Y2), Charlie Simons (Y2), Jude Reynolds (Y2), Kiara Burrows (Y1), Arabella Corbett (Y1), Olive Tarsey (Y1). The Pop Up Club is offered to Year 1 and 2 children on a Wednesday afternoon where children gain self confidence, and skills in communication and expression.
This term Pop Up Club entered students from Year 1 and 2 into the Chichester Festival for Music, Dance and Speech (CFMDS), offering them an opportunity to compete with students from neighbouring schools. We are delighted the children took part and represented Westbourne House School with such distinction and pride. Congratulations to Freddie Wilson who was awarded third place out of a field of 21 and well done to Hebe Sargent, Harry Burrows, Jude Reynolds, Olive Tarsey and Kiara Burrows for working so hard on memorising and learning how to perform your poems so beautifully.
There are 15 places available each term for Pop Up Club and the next round of LAMDA exams will be offered in the summer term.
Greta Schwartz (Y4) also took part in the Chichester Festival for Music, Dance and Speech (CFMDS), where she performed a guitar solo.
