If you would like proof of the power of teamwork, look no further than the pupils and parents of Westbourne House School!
Fundraisers big and small have made a HUGE difference for our school charities by playing their part and working together and supporting one another's ideas in our fundraising month.
There were so many wonderful and impressive happenings:
- children from Nursery to Year 2 gave a 'helping hand' to raise money and we had many top reports of just how helpful they've been
- children in Years 3 & 4 also helped at home whilst attempting to fill a Smartie tube with 20ps - and weren't those parents happy with all the tasks completed
- one pupil and her mum hosted a delicious carvery at The Anchor for eight Reception families and set the fundraising bar high
- two Year 1 pupils got their creative juices flowing and made crayons and dinosaur key rings for their friends to buy
- a small team of Nursery children and parents put on a valentine's lucky dip with great success
- there was also a special valentine's stand with cards, sweet treats and hearts to buy
- in Year 1, one boy organised a popular lucky dip for gemstones
- a few wily Pre-Prep children invited their grandparents and friends to tea for a small charge
- a few families got together for a fundraising walk
- one Prep School girl and her mother made batch after batch of bookmarks and started a whole new school craze!
- another pupil made jewellery which was sold at school and her mother's workplace
- other pupils made delicious treats which they sold in their local streets and villages
At school, the Pre-Prep enjoyed munching on popcorn whilst watching a movie at the Big Film Night.
Thank you to Years 1 and 3 for putting on such great cake-filled social happenings. We ate waffles, cakes, cupcakes, popcorn, icing, baubles, biscuits, chocolate, buttons, sweets, chocolate eggs, sprinkles and a dusting of icing sugar at the cake sales across the school.
We had the chance to burn it all off with a brilliant fundraising HIIT class in the Sports Hall.
Well, the coins, notes and bank deposits have been counted and we can now tell you that the Big Month In or Out raised a total of......
£5,300
...for our school charities. Congratulations!
