Big Sleep Out for Stonepillow

Westbourne families joined The Little Big Sleep Out at Home for Stonepillow including the wonderful Mrs Franks and her family. Some slept in tents and others found creative alternatives such as the bath or trampoline!

Well done Westbourne for more funds raised for local charities during lockdown.

Charlie and Emily slept out on the trampoline near the beach in Felpham.  Emily, who is 11, said: “I felt like I was on a real adventure . The stars were incredible and I saw a saw a star shooting across the sky. I wasn't scared and I’ll definitely do it again to raise awareness of Stonepillow.”

Her brother Charlie, 13, said: “It was warm to begin with but by 5.30am I was really uncomfortable and decided to go into the house to my own bed, which was so comfy. It made me appreciate that I had somewhere to go which so many other homeless people don’t have.”

Ludo, aged 9, slept out with his family and completed a set of challenges throughout Sunday to raise more money. "Being homeless you wouldn't necessarily have a tent like we did.  We stayed outside the whole time and it made me wonder how homeless people cope without basic things like a bathroom. On Sunday we did lots of challenges like keepie uppies with a tennis racket, cricket bat, mallet and hockey stick, hockey dribbling races, how long you can hold a chin up and how many times you could bounce a basket ball. The aim was to beat our best so we literally did it all day!"
