Peer mentoring younger children starts in Years 3 and 4
Our Pre-Prep and Junior pupils had a lovely time getting to know each other better at their activity afternoon at the end of the Easter Term.
Our Year 4 pupils were very excited to join their Year 2 friends in the Boundaries, our woods. The Year 4s asked the children in Year 2 what they had enjoyed most about their Ice and Fire topic, as well sharing their own memories of their times in Year 2.
After a yummy lunch around the campfire of sausage baps and chips, the children had time to play together in the woods and without doubt building dens and hide and seek were the clear favourites.
Henry said: “I enjoyed playing with the Year 2s after our lunch. They have such great imaginations.”
Maya said: “It was such fun spending time with Year 2s because we don’t see them very often.”
Izzy said: “I remember doing the Ice and Fire topic when I was in Year 2, now my sister is doing it!"
Charlie said: “It was the best lunch ever!”
Meanwhile Years 1 and 3 had an Easter-themed craft afternoon in the Prep School. Year 3 teacher, Mrs Pitman, said: “The children worked in small groups to create some Easter wreaths to take home. There was great excitement and lots of chatter between the children. The Year 3 children were great ambassadors and role models as they remembered their own Year 1 experiences and they were very keen to help their younger friends with their crafting techniques.”
Alfie said: “It’s great to have Year 1 here as they will be here in Year 3 very soon.”
Lily said: "It’s lovely to see the Year 3s"
Jack said: “It’s good to chat to the Year 1s and to get to know some new faces.”
