Welcome to boarding in the Spring term!
Lunar New Year
Our wonderful kitchen staff prepared a real feast for our boarders this Lunar New Year. They greatly enjoyed eating together and sharing customs and traditions.
"It was with tremendous joy that we were able to celebrate this very important tradition with all our boarding community last night and alongside billions of people across the world. The Lunar New Year is the first new moon of 2025 and, as you can see, our chef and kitchen team provided a veritable banquet for us all to mark this special festival," said our Deputy Head and Head of Boarding, Peter Fisher.
A Bognor fishing trip
After a stormy Saturday, the sun shone on Sunday and so our fulltime boarders headed to Bognor Pier. Perfect for angling, arcades and of course, hot chocolate.
"The views of the Solent and surrounding beaches added to a memorable morning. We made contact with one dogfish who decided that his sea environment was a better bet before returning back to shore."
Mr Pitman
Gonzalo announced that Darren’s super Sunday lunch was his “best lunch ever,” and everyone agreed. The delicious meal meant that everyone was ready for a good work out at ‘Flip Out’ which was thoroughly enjoyed by all. Later on in the afternoon Mr Pitman led some competitive carpet golf, and Oscar certainly put him and Mr Bennett to shame!
Sundays are also about time relaxing. Oscar and Gonzalo engraved stone and Amy made full use of the Victorian doll’s house. In preparation for the Big Month In, Amy also made some tasty treats to sell in aid of the school charities.
"A big thank you to our boarders for being such an enthusiastic and appreciative group."

Cinema and Exploria
Mr and Mrs Jeram launched the weekend with a 'family' meal out in Chichester, followed by watching Sonic 3 at the cinema.
Sunday was a wonderful mix of relaxation time, phone calls home, art, shopping and a trip to Southsea to bounce, hide, run, jump in Exploria.
Wednesday evenings with Mr Cousens
Mr Cousens talks us through some of the evening activities he's run since term started!
In boarding this term, as well as the more traditional activities such as art and multi-sports in the sports hall, we’ve been enjoying doing some more creative games and activities on a Wednesday evening:
BBC Traitors - Outside in the dark, the goal is to find checkpoints - without knowing which of your friends may be a traitor who is trying to steer you into being captured by other undercover stooges.
Murder in the Dark - Boarders have to hunt down corrupt FBI Agents at the back of the grounds without getting captured by staff leaping out of the trees with giant halogen lamps and chasing them across the fields.
Greyhound Racing - Boarders place bets to win kitkats on the outcome of pre-recorded real Greyhound Race footage. This always creates the buzzing atmosphere of a stadium within our hall.
Karaoke Dance Off - We hook up the theatre surround sound to the boarders' favourite tunes and they enjoy teaching others their favourite dance moves with staff judges.
Floodlight Sports - The boarders love playing floodlit matches on the hard courts after dark.
After the holiday, we are planning to take the boarders on a treasure hunt around the lake after dark with lots of supervising staff and torches. We will be searching for Freddo Chocolates that 'accidentally fell out of a plane' into the woodland.
