Year 2’s Celebration Concert began with an amazingly choreographed rendition of ‘Reach for the Stars.’
The children continued the show by taking the audience on their very own ‘African Adventure’, sharing facts they have learnt about rainforests, deserts and African animals.
We were lucky to be able to hear some brilliant African-themed songs from Nursery, Reception and Year 1 who gave great renditions of Nelly the Elephant, A Jungle Boogie and I Wanna Be Like You from the Jungle Book.
The children shared their mixture of nerves and excitement at moving up to the Prep School and amazed us with their singing, dancing and percussion from Siyahamba to the tear-jerking Circle of Life from the Lion King.
As their time in the Pre-Prep came to a close, teachers and staff in the Pre-Prep said a very fond farewell to our wonderful Year 2 children. Physically, the children aren't going far in September, but for many children, the move to Year 3 feels like a big change. Luckily, the Year 3 children took the time to share their infectious love of Year 3 by writing a special letter to their buddy in Year 2.
In the letter, the Year 3 children describe what it is like in Year 3, what the Year 2s can look forward to and reminds them that it will be so much fun.
In September, at the start of the new school year, the buddies will meet up in the Prep School and the older children will show the brand new Year 3s around for the first few days.
