Environmental Committee to the rescue!

Reception have been learning about habitats and have decided they’d like to build a large bug hotel to provide happy homes for creatures galore – from solitary bees, ladybirds, woodlice to hedgehogs and toads!

The Environmental Committee went on the hunt for bug hotel materials with Mr Brown and, with kind permission of the grounds team, found old wooden pallets, tiles, thin strips of wood, metal pipes in the work yard. These they carried back to the Pre-Prep and left them in a quiet corner of the garden. The next stage is for Reception to go on the hunt for sticks, loose bark, bamboo, dry leaves and other materials which they’ll use to make comfortable homes for the creatures. We (and the bugs) can’t wait to see the finished hotel!
