"C'mon! Time! We don't have enough TIME on our hands! Time! You know time? We don't have it. Now move!"
Basil Fawlty, Year 7
Our Fawlty Towers Restaurant Experience guests were ushered into the theatre by one of our six Basil Fawltys and had their first glimpse of a unique evening and dining experience that was hilarious, outrageous and exciting, and left the audience buzzing! Well done Year 7!
The evening allowed the pupils to immerse themselves in their characters, as you can see in these photos! Plus, the audience was entertained with wonderful solo singing acts in between the sketches.
Our Year 7 pupils brought the house down with “brilliant acting”, “hilarious sketches”, “beautiful singing” and “fabulous characters” said our audience.
French teacher, Madame Bennison said: “Everyone was buzzing and it was amazing to watch. The children were full of energy, the acting was brilliant and the humour was spot on. It’s not easy to be funny but our Year 7 children genuinely brought the house down.
“It was also wonderful to see the parents and some of younger siblings all dressed up ‘Fawlty Towers’ style. It was a wonderful, wonderful, evening.”
Without doubt, the Fawlty Towers Restaurant Experience would not have been the same without everyone dressing up in their 70s gear and bring sharing platters - it made for an unforgettable evening - thank you parents!
Thank you too to our amazing hair and makeup team, who worked their wonders with wigs, hairspray and brilliant 70s makeup. And of course a HUGE well done to Harriet for all the fabulous costumes and the 300+ props!
But the biggest thanks and the HUGEST congratulations to Year 7 for the non-stop entertainment and to Head of Drama, Ed Cousens. What a show!
