Gatsby Ball raises much-needed funds for six charities

Every other year, Westbourne House charity committee organises a ball for the school's chosen charities. This year's ball, The Gatsby, was phenomenally successful and raised a staggering £68,000 for our six school charities: Dementia Support, Sussex Snowdrop Trust, Winston’s Wish, Royal British Legion, Mary’s Meals and Westbourne House Bursary Fund.

The Gatsby was a truly fabulous evening of wonderful food, outrageous dancing and generous high-energy bidding, ably conducted by the celebrity auctioneer Jonathan Pratt.

The event is a big team effort with most of the Westbourne House community contributing in some way, be it through giving up their time, donating an auction or raffle prize or sponsoring the event.

The Gatsby certainly wouldn't be possible without the dedication of the charity committee. This team worked incredibly hard putting together every single element of the night and ensuring that it ran smoothly. The committee, which is headed up by the Headmaster’s wife Helen Barker, consists of a team of hard- working and committed Westbourne House parents.

Thank you to everyone who made it possible.
