In September 2023, we came to the end of a two-year period supporting three amazing charities: West Sussex Mind, Chestnut Tree House and Global Canopy. The grand total raised was an amazing £76,200 – thank you to everyone in our community for your hard work and generosity.
We were delighted to welcome representatives from these charities to school in the Christmas term to collect their cheques and speak to our pupils about the difference their fundraising will make.
“All three charities were so deserving of our support and it is important for us, as a school, to make a difference.
"I visited Chestnut Tree Hospice recently and it is a very special place for all that they do for the children and their families – the new play park there for wheelchairs and woodland walk were incredible. I know the funds will make a difference to children and families when they need it most.
“We also care deeply as a community for the environment and what an important job Global Canopy is doing. I know the children were very motivated by this phenomenal charity.
“When West Sussex Mind came in to collect the cheque, they asked us on which services we’d like the funds spent; the pupils voted for younger people's and older people's service locally. We hope it makes all the difference to people who are struggling.”
