Here come the dinosaurs

Dressed as dinosaurs and wearing incredible hats they had made in class, the children roared and danced and told the story of Gigantasaurus by Jonny Duddle. Year 1 teacher, Mrs Rich, said: "I'm so proud of all the children who were not at all daunted by the large audience and just showed everyone how much they love their dinosaur topic.

"The loveliest part of it all was to have the parents back in the Pre-Prep and to see their smiley faces (and dance moves!) as they shared the Gigantasaurus experience with us all."

Later on in the term, in the hub of deliciousness that is the Food Technology kitchens, our Year 1 pupils got creative with some mouth-watering ingredients. On top of brightly-coloured icing covering crunchy biscuits, they let their imaginations run wild creating unique dinosaurs.

Mrs Bonn said: “After a Baltic two-year ice age in the enchanted land of Foodtechopolis, the Covid cloud lifted to reveal some intriguing relics from around the Jurassic period. We enlisted the help of our budding year 1 Archaeologists/Fossil Finders Extraordinaire to identify these ferocious looking fossils and to help bring them back to their former glory! The children had a roarsome time creating their very own unique Brachiosaurus and Triceratops-inspired designs. I was so impressed by the children's creativity and willingness to experiment with the edible resources they had to play with. I can’t wait to teach them all in Year 3!”

What a delicious end to the children's Dinosaur Roar topic this term and a fantastic first introduction to the Prep School Food Tech kitchens.
