Joy Johnston joined us at the end of November as our Inspirational Speaker. Joy's dream was to umpire ice hockey at the Winter Olympics and she talked to the children about how she made her dream come true not just once, but three times over three consecutive Winter Olympics, despite a serious injury. She also achieve the ultimate umpiring goal - umpiring the gold medal game. She told the children: "If you want to succeed, you need to prepare to succeed."
The children asked all sorts of questions including 'how did you find your dream to begin with?' and 'how many years did it take you to achieve your goal?'
The children were also amazed to hear she now works at the Premier League and, at the end, asked for Joy's autograph, as well as checking out her ice hockey helmet and testing out the weight of the puck.
