The whole school came together to listen to our inter-patrol debate final in the Millennium Hall. The knock-out rounds had seen the Otters defeat the Panthers and the Owls win against the Tigers, their motion had been ‘This house believes that every child should have a pet.’
For the final, our motion was: ‘Computers should replace teachers.’
On giving their final judgement, our judging panel of Mr Allday, Mrs Low and Mr Pitman, commented that 'right to the end it was really close'. The Owls, who were arguing for the motion, had a tricky task on their hands, particularly in front of a Millennium Hall full of teachers! Despite this, and some brilliantly persuasive speeches by the Otters, the Owls won due to their original arguments and convincing counters to points of information.
Well done to all debaters.
