The Pre-Prep children took a trip around the world in their International Week!
The week was packed full of learning about different countries and cultures. Year 1’s focus countries were Peru and South Africa. They used mixed media including paint and chalk pastels to create llamas with a background inspired from traditional Peruvian fabric. They also learnt about the Ndebele people from South Africa, inspiring geometric patterned art. Learning many fascinating facts about the two countries they then wrote travel journals full of useful information.
Year 2 focused on Australia and India. They painted aboriginal patterns on a boomerang and learned a Bollywood dance and decorated their hands with henna.
The week culminated with a day moving between countries (classrooms)! They visited South Africa, France, Spain and Peru and loved all of the fascinating facts they learned and activities they did on their travels.
