Over two Learning4Life lessons last week, Mr Pitman focused on Black Lives Matter. The children were exposed to different points of view, listened to clear explanations from trusted sources and heard first hand accounts of demonstrations.
Mr Pitman also shared a thought-provoking interview with Bruno Kondebeka, whom the children know from School Chapel. Mr Kondebeka is a great story teller and the children always look forward to his sermons. In the clip, he talks about Black Lives Matter, shares personal experiences and puts forward his suggestion of something we can all do to help.
“Young people, carry on. Carry on challenging your parents and your grandparents if you hear something they say [is prejudiced]”.
