All that studying adds up!
All of our Year 6 pupils and the majority of our Year 5s took part in the nationwide Primary Maths Challenge. This annual competition gives pupils 45 minutes to answer 25 questions which test their problem-solving skills and their numerical understanding. 20 of these are multiple choice and the final five problems are longer and more challenging.
“It is a national competition and we are delighted to be receiving so many certificates this year - 9 gold, 12 silver and 15 bronze awards are being given out to Westbourne House pupils.”
Mrs Lingham, Maths teacher
“Congratulations to everyone who received a certificate, especially to the nine students who received gold medals and in particular to the three Year 6 students who have got through to the invitation only bonus round.”
The bonus round is for high-scoring pupils who achieve 20 or above in the Primary Maths Challenge.
We wish Alfred, Sebastian and Henry the very best of luck in the final round, which will be held in the first week of February. Well done to everyone for their hard work and achievement.
