Measuring dinosaurs

Ivan, in Year 1, brought in a news article given to him by his grandfather. It was about a newly discovered fossil which just might be the biggest dinosaur discovered (40 metres long)! The class were so enthralled, the Year 1 teachers wanted to harness the energy and excitement for the topic. Linking their maths skills, the children measured out the lengths of various dinosaurs to compare in the playground. Feeling further inspired, they imagined they were the palaeontologists who discovered the fossil and wrote recounts of the experience.
