Movie trailers and popcorn for Year 3

Year 3 broke out the popcorn to watch their very own movie trailers earlier this term.

Mrs Cousens explains: "In our drama lessons, the Year 3s have been working on a group project. They have written, directed and acted their own movie trailers in small groups. They all came up with unique and creative ideas; there were some brilliant team challenges and wonderful triumphs. The children gave me notes on how they would like them to be edited and the style of music wanted."

When the trailers were ready, Year 3 sat down together to watch and were blown away by each other’s creations. Certainly, the audience was taken through its paces; there were really funny bits that sent everyone into fits of giggles, there were intriguing themes and stories, there were moments which showed incredible imagination, and there were even scary parts and lots of people had to cover their eyes and ears!

Mrs Cousens added, "The Year 3 audience clapped and cheered at the end of each one, which was a fitting end to an imaginative and fun project. It has been lovely to see all the children work really hard in their groups and they have learnt some valuable new skills. This project was enjoyed by all children across the year group and they particularly enjoyed getting to use our Forest School area and the Boundaries to film some of their scenes."

“They were so good! I can’t believe we filmed them at Westbourne!”

“I really wish we could film the whole movie and watch them all! ”
