Our children in Nursery have been playing doctors and nurses and having so much fun with role play. So Mrs Watson, Head of Nursery, invited our school nurse Chelcie to come and visit.
Chelcie read the story Nurse Bear and then the children used bandages, antiseptic wipes and plasters to tend to the ‘babies’ as well as some of the grown-ups who weren't feeling well.
The children also had the opportunity use a stethoscope, pulse oximeter, blood pressure monitor, spacer and inhaler but it was dressing Mrs Watson’s blood-covered, gory ‘wound’ that was the clear favourite!
“So much of the learning in Nursery is led by the children's interests and this visit from Nurse Chelcie provided the perfect opportunity for developing enquiring minds.”
