In the Old Coach House, our young artists have been inspired to make some wonderful pieces of art.
Our Year 4 pupils have been making a personal, artistic interpretation of a cityscape using collage techniques and bright, highlighting posca pens.
Mrs Jeram said: “The children have responded so well and imaginatively to this exciting task and we can’t wait to show the pictures off at our Art Department Summer Exhibition.”
Year 5 have been working on 3D Picasso faces and starting to paint their creations as part of a four-lesson project with the end results to be revealed later this term. They have also been learning how to draw optical illusions.
“It’s just so fascinating,” said one boy.
Our Year 6, 7 and 8 art scholars and enthusiasts meet up once a week. Recently we popped in to see what they are up to - look for the gorgeous eyes they are sketching and drawing in the photos below.
Mrs Jeram has also visited Pallant House with the keen art scholars on Saturdays. For one of these trips, they were lucky to be accompanied on their visit by Karen Swann, Westbourne House Academic Mentor, who is an artist and Ambassador for the Pallant Community Programme.
