Photography at West Wittering

WARNING! These shells are not real - our year 7 pupils made them!

Year 7 took their three dimensional Modroc shells to West Wittering Beach to photograph them in the natural environment.

The artistic challenge was to be creative with their photography and work well in teams. Our Head of Art, Lisa Jeram, said: "Most of our Year 7s brought props and one had chosen a tiny little rubber ring complete with tiny little duck!

"Everyone experimented by burying the shell in the sand, throwing it in the air, getting it wet by the shoreline. There were some really lovely photographs as a result.

"I was pleased with the children's shells - it is challenging to build in 3D and the shells tend to keep growing as they add to the sculpture or build up an area that has sagged or isn't quite the right shape. There is a lot of skill to it."

Well done, everyone!
