In Reception this term, our pupils and their teachers have been very busy with phonics. The children have all been like the Hardworking Superhero and have persevered with learning their sounds before blending them to decode for reading. They have then applied this practice and have been reading whole sentences lots of times until they are fluent readers
Mrs Rogers, Reception teacher, said: "Every day we sing Our Marvellous Melody, which teaches us the all the sounds we need at the start of our magical journey into reading. We are now like the Realising superhero, because we remember our sounds with automaticity thanks to the repetition and practice."
