Our Year 2 pupils stepped back in time on their trip to Arundel Castle and all of a sudden kings, queens, knights and nobles appeared from the spiral staircase and fired imaginary bows and arrows from the Keep in a pretend siege.
Year 2 teacher Mrs Temple: “The children are studying Knights and Castles and it was incredible for them to see and touch so many things they have been learning about this term - it really brought their topic to life.”
“Children were bounding up the spiral staircase saying: 'I love seeing old stuff and real swords from battles!'"
Mrs Temple
“The children learnt that the moat has never been filled with water. They were surprised to discover that children their age were sent down the 'Sallyport' to send messages to other castles.
They found it funny to learn about how a 'garderobe' worked!” Mrs Temple added.
