It was Reception’s turn to wow their parents with a special assembly during which they performed an adaptation of Owl Babies by Martin Waddell.
Reception children, dressed as ultra-sweet owls, all told the story together about three owlets, who were missing their mummy, and wondering if all was as it should be.
“Where’s Mummy?”
“Oh goodness!”
“I want my Mummy”
Luckily Mummy owl returned at the end of the story: “and they flapped and they danced and they bounced up and down.”
Parents were treated to two lovely songs and a prayer that reflected the children’s learning about animals and their habitats.
