Take your seat at our Roman fashion show! On their special Roman Day, Year 3 and 4 children introduced their Roman character to their year group and did their best Roman-times entry and pose for the clapping and cheering crowd! The children had created their own costumes as well as their handmade accessories including shields, spears, swords and details such as hair plaits and woad Celtic face paint.
We had rich Romans, citizens of Rome, princesses, slaves, Julius Caesars, Boudiccas, soldiers and a fierce group of Celts with their wild hair and war paint - and they even remained in character during break time!
The day also included a carousel of activities for Year 4 including acting in a play about the time Julius Caesar was captured by pirates; taking part in gladiator games in the playground and quietly creating a mosaic. Year 3 worked on their Roman numerals and discovered what the Romans ate and took on further Roman activities in the afternoon.⠀
