Our School Council met to discuss pupils’ concerns and opinions on a range of issues important to the children’s daily lives at school.
Ahead of the meeting the school councillors, representing all our year groups, asked their form groups if they had anything they wanted to discuss and all ideas were brought to the meeting.
Our Deputy Head, Mr Fisher, listened to the issues raised which ranged from more dustbins around the school, additional water fountains, the location and inception of the ‘friendship bench’, suggestions about existing uniform, lunchtime food options, additional clubs and even a wish for a ‘doughnut day’. Headmaster, Mr Barker, also popped in to hear what they had to say.
Mr Fisher said: “It is very important that all the pupils know they have a voice and that there is a forum for them to be heard on issues that concern them.”
Mr Fisher will now discuss the issues with the rest of the school staff team and report back to the committee with his findings. “Remember we will always listen to you,” he told the children.
