In search of Billy goats, little pigs and ugly ducklings…

As part of their ‘Once Upon a Time’ topic work, the Reception children had an amazing visit to Staunton Farm to meet some of the well-known creatures from their favourite fairy tales.

After receiving a warm welcome from Abi Peet, Education Officer, the children were very excited to feed some equally excitable goats!  They then visited a range of pigs and even some very cute piglets before waking up Jack the Sandy and Black boar to give him some carrots.

After cuddles with Arthur the rabbit and an encounter with the little red hen, it was time to feed two very docile cows some potatoes.  After tucking into their own packed lunches, it was time for our tired but happy adventurers to return to school. This was the children’s first school outing and one that they are sure to remember for years to come.
