Our Head of History, Mrs Beth Armitage, had a wonderful morning paying a very special visit to the children in Reception down in the Pre-Prep, who have been learning about castles.
Reception teacher Mrs Lewis said: “We were delighted to welcome Mrs Armitage. She spoke to the children about castles that she has visited and shared a wonderful story called 'The Castle the King Built' as part of their topic ‘Long, Long Ago’. Mrs Armitage also showed everyone, a set of very old keys and we talked about which doors they may have opened in the past.”
Mrs Armitage said: “It was such a treat to visit the Reception children this morning! They really impressed me with all that they had learnt about castles and they had so many brilliant ideas. It was lovely to see their enthusiasm for learning about the past developing right at the start of their academic journey at Westbourne House.”
