Around the World in 80 Days is a pastoral initiative, which encourages the sharing of cultures
During the last few weeks, we have enjoyed a series of talks about other countries and cultures thanks to our wonderful parents. It forms part of our Around the World in 80 Days initiative, which finishes at the end of the summer term. We look forward to more talks soon.
We would like to say a massive thank you to…
Mr Brazao, who took us to his home country of Portugal with all of the Pre-Prep and nursery. The first of our talks, it brought much joy to the Pre-Prep!
Mrs Thompson, who visited the Pre-Prep to talk about her home country of Germany. She shared dances and traditional tales.
Mrs Moffatt, who came in to talk to us all about the colourful Hindu festival ‘Holi.’ She told us stories and showed pictures from festivals when she lived in India and the children enjoyed wearing bright scarves and skirts and having vibrant, colourful powder put on their foreheads.
"Holi looks like the Westbourne House Colour Run.. I wish we could have the powder thrown all over us!"
Kaia
Mrs Morgan, who lived in Uganda and shared lots of amazing insights into Ugandan culture.
