U11 Primary Cup Chess Finalists

Our U11 teams qualified for the Finals Day of the Primary Cup which is a huge achievement.

57 Sussex Schools originally entered the tournament back in September and only the top 16 schools qualified for Finals Day.

Our U11B team were placed in Division Four for the Finals Day (effectively for the 13th-16th placed schools) whilst our U11A team was placed in Division 3 (9th-12th placed teams).

Our B team (Charlie Keville, Raffy Matthews, Alfie Rich and Martha Becker) played three schools: they won their division managing nine points from their 12 games.  A big well done to Alfie Rich who won all his games.

Our A team (Alex Witcomb, Olly Wilson, Nathan Smith and Euan Cleallsmith) also played three schools including the A teams from Brambletye and Windlesham. They too won their division managing eight points from their matches.  Pride of place to Euan for winning all his games.

We are particularly proud of our Year 4 children and especially Martha Becker, who is one of the few girls playing chess and who managed two wins.
