Visiting a lifeboat station

Year 2 had an amazing trip to the RNLI Lifeboat Station at Selsey.

"I loved learning all about the Shannon boat righting itself in a storm."

Pupil, Year 2

Mrs Temple, Year 2 teacher, added: "We learned all about rescues the RNLI are called to, the equipment they use and what they have to wear in storm conditions. We heard how the station has appeared in real-life rescues on the TV programme ‘Saving lives at Sea’. We talked about how to stay safe around water, which is especially important as we go into summer and spend more time at our local beaches and on the water."
