Westbourne Home Run

Well done to everyone who took part in the Westbourne House Home Run.

Taking place on the first Saturday of Summer Term, the Westbourne House Home Run was set up by Mrs Barker and Mr Stewart as fun 'at home' sports event which also supported the NHS.   Normally pupils in Years 4 - 8 have competitive matches on Saturday mornings so it was a fantastic way for everyone to working together and feel connected.

Each family ran on the spot, up the stairs or in the garden and counted their distance, passing the baton (a loo roll insert) between them. The whole school ran 159 miles (256 km) and raised £1,465.

Mr Stewart said: "Mr Stewart said: "After seeing the exploits of Colonel Tom, it was heartening to see so many happy Westbourne House School families taking part in our first Home Run. The distance covered and the money raised was amazing but for me it was the shared experience of feeling like the whole school was coming together in tough times, thinking of others and making the most or our time at home. Many thanks to everyone who took part and to those who cheered us on from the sidelines."
