Sport is a great way to bring people together in an exciting shared experience.
The Westbourne House Golf Day on 1st November was a fabulous day. Fifty-four golfers who all have connections to the school met to enjoy a round of golf at the Golf at Goodwood, Park Course. We were briefed on the format of the day by Stuart Gillet who is the General Manage for Golf and Leisure at Goodwood. All golfers boldly proceeded to their hole, before a rocket was set off to signify the start of the golf. The weather turned out to be excellent and the lovely Park Course belonged to Westbourne House for a few wonderful hours.
After the 18 holes we all gathered for sandwiches, chips and drinks and discussed the highs and lows of the round. As usual there were tales of humour, celebration and woe. The software system at Goodwood did its thing and the results were made available for the prize giving. Martin Barker made the presentation and handed out trophies to the following people:
Team Winners | Gideon Sutcliffe, Martin Barker, Kevin Smith and Paul Donald |
Individual Winner | Kevin Smith |
Individual Runner up | Juliet Matthews |
U16 Winner | Charlie Tear |
Nearest the Pin | Charlie Tear |
Longest Drive | Martin Barker |
Thank you to all those who turned up and ensured that the day was a success. We all look forward to the next one.
