We were delighted to see our Sussex school and Barbara Langford, our Deputy Head Academic and Head of Maths, featured in the Daily Telegraph talking about her remote teaching experience alongside other teachers from state and private schools. Teaching remotely was a huge learning curve for all and she relates her experiences with great humility, telling amusing stories of lessons that went wrong and explaining the challenges she and her fellow teachers faced. Westbourne House at Home, as we called our remote teaching and learning experience, prioritised the wellbeing of children and their family, alongside academic progress, and was a key part of the support we provided as a school.
Martin Barker, Headmaster, commented: "As a headmaster this has been the toughest year of my career and it’s only thanks to my incredibly strong staff team, including Barbara Langford featured in this article, that we have survived this ordeal, achieved so much and we are still smiling."
