Our Reception children have learnt about lots of different careers this half term as part of their topic ‘What do people do all day?’
This has led them to think about what they might like to do when they are older. From gymnasts to police officers, chefs to superheroes it was wonderful to hear all about their future plans..
“I want to be a racing car driver because I love Formula 1,” said one pupil, whilst another said: “I want to be a history teacher … just like Mummy!”
The Reception children were delighted to receive a visit from PC Matt Chamberlain. They learnt all about his uniform and how it keeps him safe at work as well as making him recognisable as a member of the Police. He also spoke to the children about road safety and when to call the police for help.
The children have been lucky enough to go on to meet a surgeon, a GP who also works in A&E and one of our lovely school nurses. They have learnt so much and been inspired to create their own hospital during their child-led learning time.
Mrs Lewis said: "Thank you to all of our visitors for taking the time to talk to us and for all that you do to keep us safe, fit and healthy."
