“We haven’t been to Winchester Science Centre since 2020 and it was so good to go back with Year 5,” said Science Teacher Mr Brown.
“It was a whole day of interactive science. When we got there, we let the children discover for themselves all the hands-on exhibits and it was great to see them following their curiosity and interests and working out what to do at each station. We walked around talking to them about what they were learning and enjoying their excitement and enthusiasm. They really got stuck in.
“In their workshop, they made slime and bouncy balls and discussed states of matter, which is something they’ve been learning about in chemistry. They also loved the planetarium, which zoomed them through the solar system. It was a great day.”
Hebe, Year 5, added: “It wasn’t like a museum at all. You got to play, and go around and enjoy the different experiments. We made slime and talked about matter and we also found an exhibit with a tap and a light switch, which showed you how you spread microbes. It was great.”
