Wildlife Reporting

Year 3 have been immersed in a rainforest topic this term and having researched a rainforest animal and observed the art of wildlife reporting, they set about creating their own David Attenborough-style report from the rainforest.

Some of these reports were performed live in lesson time and others were recorded.  Here several have been collected together to give you a glimpse into the wonderful world of Year 3.

Year 3 teacher, Mrs Pitman, commented: "What a wonderful and inspiring topic; there has been something for everyone to enjoy.  The children have expanded their geographical knowledge of the world by studying the rainforests.  The children found exploring Google Earth fascinating.  They went on to choose and study a rainforest animal and there was lovely variety in their choices including the sloth, the emerald tree boa and the tree kangaroo.  The children have produced artwork each week of rainforest animals ready for our return to school when we are going to make a huge class display."

"I have so appreciated the encouragement the children have given each other after sharing their wildlife reports: the feedback about the facts they found interesting, the applause and the words of congratulations written on the Google Classroom stream for their friends to read."

"The reports included lego rainforests, indoor plants, material blankets and towels, cardboard tubes and soft toys - what a huge array of original creations - we were so impressed! As for the reporters, well watch out David Attenborough!"
