Y3 become archaeologists at Fishbourne Roman Palace

On a beautiful spring day the Year 3 children visited Fishbourne Roman Palace.

The children watched a presentation about the history of Fishbourne and the lost ring! They enjoyed a wonderful workshop where they become young archaeologists examining Roman artefacts. They worked in groups to analyse and decide where their artefact might have been used in the palace.

The children learnt a little about Roman fashion, dressing up in Roman costume and working in the Roman kitchen.
A talk about keeping clean in Roman times certainly turned a few noses up!  It was most enlightening!

Finally, the walk around the North Wing admiring the amazing mosaics proved to be a favourite part of the visit.
