Y3&4 Inter-Patrol gala makes a splash

This was a very exciting and fun filled afternoon of swimming! I am very proud of everyone who swam. No school records were broken on this occasion but you all tried your best, which is what is important. So much so that we had TWENTY SIX new personal bests! 5 of these came from the Owls, 6 from the Otters and Tigers and 9 from the Panthers! The gala was a real success and everyone competed in at least two races.
A special mention to Olly Wilson who got 2 new PB’s and Emily Stewart who also got 2 new PB’s and won both of her races. An extra special mention to Tabitha Discombe Wells who swam three individual events for the Otters due to absences on the day and got a PB in every single one!

The pupils received an extra point towards the gala if they achieve a ‘target time’ for the strokes in PE lessons. Owls had earned 6 points from target times, Panthers 10 points, Tigers 16 points and Otters 18 points. A special mention goes to the following pupils for achieving the target time in all of their strokes; Jasmin Hafez, Coco Heaver, Emily Stewart, Sonny Tuppen, Annabel Anderson and Alexis Bartholomew.

In 4th place were the Owls with 59 points. Owls did not win any of the individual events but they did win the U8 raft relay. I would like to say well done to them for their teamwork and sportsmanship. They had far fewer people in Year 4, which meant they did at least 3 races!

In 3rd  place were the Panthers with 83 points. Panthers won the U9 medley relay and 5 Individual races.

In 2nd  place were the Otters with 90 points. Otters didn’t win any relays but they won 3 individual races.

In 1st  place were the Tigers! Tigers won 6 of the relays and 5 individual races. Well done!
