Y4 visit the magnificent Jutland Exhibition

Y4 have been looking at the Battle of Jutland this term as part of their World War One studies.

In late November, we visited the magnificent Jutland Exhibition at the Portsmouth Historic Dockyard, where our children were given a tour around the exhibits - the largest collection of Jutland artefacts ever assembled. The children were able to experience, through video and interactive resources, some important facets of this key naval battle and deepen their knowledge and understanding.

The trip was rounded off by a visit to HMS M.33, one of only 3 remaining WW1 warships in this country. Life on board this ship was brilliantly brought to life by the means of drama and story-telling, and the children braved the chilly conditions to enjoy a fantastic morning of learning. A very big thanks to Mr Pitt from the Historic Dockyard for his help and guidance in setting up this visit.
