Our Year 1 children set off to the woods near the Pre-Prep to investigate the news that a dinosaur had been spotted in the school grounds! The children felt like adventurers and wondered what they would find.
Just beyond the edge of the field, past the long grass and under the trees, they caught a glimpse of something that looked out of place. It turned out to be some rather large, freshly-made footprints. They definitely looked like dinosaur footprints and the children had a good go at guessing which type of dinosaur could have made them!
In amongst the trees they went hunting for dinosaurs but instead of finding one big dino, they found lots of little ones! It was very exciting rushing around looking to see if there were more. One child squealed: “Look up there, there’s one in the tree!”
The children returned to the classroom buzzing with energy and excited to get stuck into their new topic, Dinosaur Roar!
