I joined Westbourne House in 2009, having just completed a music degree at Durham University.
I combine my role at school with occasional concert work as a pianist, both as soloist and accompanist. Days at school can be so varied, from teaching the Year 2s to play the recorder, through to accompanying a Grade 8 Oboe exam, to holding one-to-one meetings with my tutees - no day is ever the same! As well as teaching curriculum music, I am also responsible for directing the Junior Choir, Senior Choir and School Orchestra. We are very lucky to have a superb team of visiting music teachers, who work closely with us to ensure that all pupils reach their potential, and it is very satisfying to play a role in every child’s development.
I am also a Y7/8 form tutor.
