Exploration at Winchester Science Centre

Year 6 enjoyed an afternoon of exploration and fun with over 100 interactive science exhibits at the Winchester Science Centre. Exhibits included the colon cafe, tornado maker, human battery, mirror madness and many more. A new exhibit called ‘Sneake Peake’, inspired by Tim Peake’s adventures in space, proved very popular. It enabled one to fly across the planet with an astronaut's eye view, or swoop down to explore different landscapes. Not surprisingly the Science of Sport zone also proved to be a massive hit.

From testing your reaction time, your flexibility, and your ability to balance to discovering the effect that spin has on the direction of a ball, and how your jump height and sprint speed can be related. The 10m sprint proved to be particularly competitive with such a sporty year group. All in all a fun and rather exhausting afternoon!
