Big success for the Big Month In!
The annual Big Month In has been as wonderful as ever. We have seen bake sales, fun runs, dips in the sea, film nights, sponsored chores and more.
The month’s hard work was rounded off with a Big Sale, where the children sold their own creations to their peers.
This included the selling of: homemade keyrings, decorations, fidget toys, paintings, books, earrings, slime, playdoh, cookies made by our kitchen staff, books, games...you name it, our children sold it!
“This is what the whole month is all about - no two stalls were the same. We celebrate the wonderful individuality of our pupils and their enthusiasm to take action and make a difference."
Mrs Barker, Head of the Charity Committee
Rather than focusing on numbers, the Big Month In focuses our pupils' efforts towards ‘doing,’ therefore demonstrating to the children that their actions have results and that their hard work can make a difference. This is why we launched ‘helping hands,’ where children are encouraged to complete chores or tasks at home in exchange for a charitable donation.
A big thank you to all our children for their efforts, and to their parents, grandparents, friends, teachers and everyone who supported them. Not forgetting a big thank you to our guest speakers from Thembalitsha Foundation and Home-Start Chichester, who inspired our children and showed them the importance of charity.
