Thank you to all our Old Westbournians who came for breakfast in January, all of whom have children at Westbourne House at the moment. Their children range in age from a little one in Reception right up to Year 8. It was great to get everyone together, chatting, reminiscing and looking at old photos and school magazines (only OW missing from the main photo is Mrs Armitage who had to head off to take her history lesson!).
"It was great, we were looking at the photos and someone would mention the name of one of their peers and then the memories would flow as well as news of what people are doing now. I loved all the laughs and stories."
Mr Smith, Sports Coach and former head of boys' sport
The morning was hosted in the boarders' common room which used to be a dormitory and a few of the OWs looked around the boarding accommodation to find their old rooms and tried to work out what had moved where in Main House. We love the photo of two of the OWs reliving sitting outside the old staff room (now a meeting room) on the 'naughty' bench in the red passage (where you used to sit when you were in trouble, waiting for the Deputy Head to give you a stern talking to).
We look forward to the next two OW events - a grandparents and friends get together and the OW Hockey Festival.
