"Our Year 3s have had an amazing time learning about the iron age era," said Mrs Champion-Luff, Year 3 teacher.
She continued: "They've learnt about and met Boudica herself, queen of the ancient British Iceni tribe. They discovered that she was a powerful and persuasive speaker, so much so she managed to get competing tribes to join together in the rebellion against the conquering forces of the Roman empire."
Armour, weaponry, shields and tactics; Year 3 also were wowed by Roman Britain. They met a Roman Legion soldier who taught them to march like real Roman soldiers. Dex, Sin, Dex, Sin!
It was fascinating to see his armour and see all the interesting things he brought with him from spears to shoes! They finished the day with a greater understanding of the life of a soldier in the Roman Army.
